Final conference of the EU research project 'Climate for Culture': Public presentation of the results

9-10 July 2014, Munich, Germany

The EU project 'Climate for Culture' will come to an end this year after five years of successful research cooperation. We would therefore like to invite you to the presentation of the final results of our research work at Munich's beautiful Munich Residenz, the former royal palace of the Bavarian monarchs.

A multidisciplinary team of 27 partners from 14 countries has investigated the impact of climate change on historic buildings and their collections in Europe and the Mediterranean region. The main innovation has been to couple for the first time high resolution climate modeling with whole building simulation tools in order to predict better the influence of the changing outdoor climate on the indoor and microclimate in historic buildings until 2100 and to assess the damage potential in various climate zones (

Programme: During the two days of the conference, the partners will present the tools and methodologies developed within the project. These are intended to support decision makers and heritage owners in managing historic buildings in a sustainable way. The event will open with a keynote lecture by the internationally renowned climatologist, Prof. Dr. Guy Brasseur, Director of the German Climate Service Center in Hamburg, Germany.
