12 April 2016, Brussels
Synergies between EU funding for research & innovation and structural funds are essential to develop regional research and innovation capacities, and drive the economic growth in Europe.
On 12 April 2016, the European Commission organised a workshop which gathered more than 100 participants from national and regional authorities and from industry and research. The aim was to discuss the obstacles that prevent the implementation of such synergies, and to explore ways to facilitate regional cooperation in the field of Key Enabling Technologies.
The workshop was associated with the "Knowledge Exchange Platform (KEP), which is a cooperation platform between the European Commissions's Research and Innovation DG and the European Committee of the Regoins (CoR).
