EERA 10th Anniversary Conference

European Energy Research Alliance will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with a high-level policy event addressing key factors for the future of the energy community in Europe and highlighting EERA´s contribution as a key pillar of the EU Strategic Energy Technology (SET)-Plan.

How should the energy research community, governments, industry and other stakeholders coordinate to contribute to the SET-Plan Implementation Plans? How can the Implementation Plans be integrated in the transition from H2020 to the next EU Framework Programme for Research & Innovation? What are the megatrends in energy transition and how can different technologies and disciplines come together to contribute shaping a sustainable energy future?

Join EERA members and representatives from EU institutions, Member States, research, industry and other stakeholders to discuss these topics.

IMI: Celebrating 10 Years of Medical Innovations

FlySec Final Info Day and Risk - Based Security Projects Cluster Meeting

The event will provide insight on the FLYSEC project results and their alignment with the implementation of the joint IATA/ACI Smart Security programme, while contributing to the overall picture of the EU research portfolio and agenda by inviting key cluster projects in the relevant area of airport, border and risk based security paradigm shift. The events’ panel discussion will focus on extending the European and Global view on facilitating the adoption of resulting assets, security principles, recommendations and values by policy makers, regulators and high level decision makers, in the context of enhancing security, improving passenger experience and optimising operational resources, while simultaneously taking into account increasing requirements in the context of GDPR compliance, ethics and respect for human rights and dignity.

In ICT We Trust 2018

The 22nd Air Transport Research Society World Conference

The Korea Transport Institute will host the 22nd edition of the Air Transport Research Society (ATRS) World Conference.

Attraction of young people toward science - strategic wish of the knowledge society

21-22 June 2018, Bucharest, Romania

The purpose of the workshop will be a good reason for the dissemination and promotion of scientific research, knowing the newest knowledge and approaches in the field of attracting young people toward science and raising the level of society awareness about the importance of scientific research and technological development.

The workshop will address the following issues and other related issues:

  • Policies to motivate / attract / promote young people for research career and the impact on the labor market and competitiveness
  • Models and training structures for scientific research
  • Good practice models - success stories in attracting students toward scientific research
  • The role of the technical museum in attracting and training young people to/ in the field of engineering

UKRO Conference 2018

21-22 June 2018, Southampton, United Kingdom

Each year the UK Research Office organises a two-day conference aimed primarily at European Liaison Officers, European research managers, Research Councils and policy makers.

The 2018 edition will take place from Thursday 21 until Friday 22 June at the National Oceanographic Centre in Southampton, UK. The UKRO Conference 2018 will include a number of expert speakers, predominantly from the European Commission and its Executive Agencies in Brussels, but also from the UK Research Councils.

EU funding practitioners and evaluators will also help to inform and stimulate discussions with the participants. Registration is now open!

Industry, Partnerships - a new impetus

The event is organised by the European Commission's Directorate General for Research & Innovation and will be opened by the Director General, Mr Jean-Eric Paquet.

High-level speakers from industry, European institutions and Member States will discuss their expectations for these partnerships, as well as the impact of the digital, low carbon and circular economy on manufacturing and processing.

Aim of the conference:

•  Discuss the role of contractual partnerships with industry in the future
•  Develop a clear concept for these European partnerships under the "Horizon Europe" EU Framework Programme for Research & Innovation (2021-2027)
•  Focus on European industry-driven priorities in manufacturing, processing, construction, ICT and automotive

H2020 UJA Project Networking Event on ICT

21 June 2018, Brussels, Belgium

The UNIVERSITY OF JAÉN (Spain) is placed in the 51-75 position according to the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2017 in Computer Science & Engineering.

For this purpose, the UJA Advanced Studies Center in Information and Communication Technologies is strongly committed to enhance the potential of its over 40 members and to implement H2020 ICT strategy.

In order to foster the joint participation of researchers, SMEs, public administrations, universities and institutes, UJA will be hosting a H2020 Project Networking Event on ICT in Brussels on 21st June 2018 with the participation of UJA experts in computing, electronics, communication technology, robotics and ICT-based psychology.

This Event will count on the advice of a EC representative and will focus on H2020 forthcoming topics with the aim of building strong project consortia willing to submit a R&I project proposal in the near future.

Academic and non-academic institutions from outside Spain that are interested in attending this event can register online until 19th June 2018.

EGVIA Workshop on EVs and their integration into the grid - State of play and challenges
