Publication of ESOF2016 calls for Careers and Science to Business Programmes

1 June - 31 July 2015, Manchester, UK

Over the six days of 22-27 July 2016, Manchester will host the Euroscience Open Forum 2016 " Science as Revolution". ESOF is the biggest pan-European science platform where researchers, journalists, policy makers, students and organisations can meet and debate European research and global challenges.

The ESOF2016 calls for Careers and Science to Business are now open. The deadline for session proposals is 31st July 2015 at 23:00 pm CET. 


Third Hellenic Forum for Science, Technology & Innovation

29 June - 3 July 2015, Agia Paraskevi, Athens, Greece

The 3rd Hellenic Forum for Science, Technology & Innovation is taking place in Athens, Greece from Monday 29 June until Friday 3 July 2015 at the Campus of the National Center for Scientific Research "Demokritos". The Forum will cover a broad range of topics including ICT, Nanotechnology, Energy & Environment, Life Sciences and Accelerator Technologies for Society.

Under the Auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this poly-thematic conference aims to act as a meeting point for Science, Technology and Innovation attracting scientists of the Greek Diaspora and world class experts who will discuss global scientific developments.


GEO 2015 Short Video Competition

2 July - 30 September 2015, Mexico City, Mexico

The Group on Earth Observations is pleased to announce the kick-off of the GEO 2015 Short Video Competition for the GEO-XII Plenary and Ministerial Summit!

The competition seeks short (up to 3 minutes) videos highlighting how GEO, and Earth observations in general, are helping to address global and regional environmental and societal challenges.

Winning videos will be shown during the GEO Ministerial Summit in Mexico City on 13 November 2015.

 The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2015.

The Role of the Transatlantic Partnership in the Future of Global Governance

2 July 2015, Brussels

Today the FP7 funded social science research project, TRANSWORLD, is having its final public conferences in Brussels, where experts from both sides of the Atlantic will discuss the future of EU-US cooperation in shaping global governance as well as the BRICS and the challenge of governance.

The open door conference will be followed by closed-door policy briefings by experts from TRANSWORLD at the European Parliament and the European External Action Service on TTIP, Asia, COP21 and EU relations with Russia

European Technical School on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells 2015

22-26 June 2015, Heraklion, Crete, Greece

The European Technical School on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells 2015 is funded by the European Commission under the H2FC project and coordinated by the University of Ulster. The sessions at the European Technical School on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells 2015 address the themes of hydrogen safety, storage and fuel cells.

The programme will include topical lectures, outcomes of H2FC transnational access, e-infrastructure for hydrogen and fuel cell research: hydrogen safety, storage and fuel cells, hands-on training session for use of the Cyber-laboratory and poster presentations on state-of-the-art research.
