ECTS 2017 – 44th European Calcified Tissue Society Congress

12 May 2016 - 16 May 2017, Salzburg, Austria

One of the great successes of the ECTS scientific programme over time has been due to the principle of bridging the gaps between translational research and clinical application.

The Scientific Programme Committee has continued to develop the programme based on this successful format and has created a stimulating and varied agenda. With more than 500 abstracts regularly submitted over recent years ECTS congresses are renowned for their high scientific quality and we expect the Salzburg meeting to be no exception.

We have also noticed an increase in submissions from further afield which shows us that the ECTS audience is definitely spreading well beyond Europe! There will be plenty of opportunities for you to showcase and discuss your work, with a significant proportion of time set aside for oral and poster presentations, which will include poster tours and e-poster options.

  • Registration starts: 3 October 2016
  • Abstract Submission Deadline: 16 January 2017
  • ECTS 2017 will seek accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide European external CME credits for medical specialists.

For information regarding sponsorship and exhibition opportunities, please contact the Official Organising Office: ECTS Project Manager Gloria Casanova E-Mail: casanova@mondial-congress.com

New Perspectives In Hepatitis C Virus Infection - The Roadmap For Cure

23-24 September 2016, Paris

This event is being co-organized with the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and is useful for hepatologists, virologists, translational and clinical researchers, health professionals and young trainees.

Topics to be covered include; Epidemiology, Pathogenesis and Virology, HCV Assessment and Treatment, Special Patient Populations, Clinical and Translational Research.

The recent and rapid advances in the treatment of hepatitis C have completely changed the scenario of this disease in the last months. It is not always easy to be updated in the field, due to the huge amount of data coming from a large number of published studies. Antiviral drugs that are still not approved in some countries are already classified as "old" and current treatment regimens may be replaced by new ones by the time the meeting takes place.

The aim of the EASL-AASLD Special Conference is to summarize the information available, as well as to provide a critical review and analysis of the best available data (some unpublished data will be relevant). With this goal in mind, this meeting will give hepatologists, as well as other specialists interested in hepatitis C, the opportunity to catch up with the new advances in the field and be able to apply them in clinical practice.

To reach this aim, an international panel of key experts and participants will actively interact to resolve pending issues and to highlight areas needing further analysis and investigation. Sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are available for those interested in making a lasting impression within the global liver community.

Early registration deadline 25 July 2016.

ESCMID/ASM Conference on Drug Development

21-23 September 2016, Vienna, Austria

Antimicrobial drug resistance is an urgent problem. There are relatively few agents in developmental pipelines. Traditional pathways for drug development are expensive and slow.

Both the EMA and FDA have recognized some of these obstacles for drug development. New regulation now enables accelerated drug development, with adaptive licensing until larger definitive phase III studies are completed. Such an approach enables access to drugs for patients with unmet medical needs.
