Q: ERC - When a Principal Investigator devotes 100% of his/her time on an ERC project, is it legitimate to reimburse the costs fully and argue that supervision of other projects, lectures or other activities are covered by overtime?
A: No, 100 % of the working time includes the aggregate of all activities and the eligible remuneration covers all contractual payments including paid overtime (see applicable conditions for eligibility of Overtime in the FP7 Guide to Financial Issues, page 59). Costs are reimbursed on the basis of the average hourly rate (salary and overtime/ total hours worked) * actual time spent on the ERC project.
