Q: Can anyone put their name forward to be a member of an EAG?
A: Yes, although only persons of the highest level are chosen as members. Members of EAGs require in-depth expertise and a vision of economic and industrial developments and scientific and technical prospects, an awareness of the main social and societal needs of the Community and a capacity to determine which research work is best carried out at the Community level. Although they have their expenses for attending EAG meetings reimbursed, members of EAGs are not paid.
