Q: In the Work Programme p9, it says "Research entities ... should explain the synergies between the measures set out in their Action Plan and related actions supported or to be supported through the cohesion policy programmes (specifically through the European Regional Development Fund)...." What is the "European Regional Development Fund" and how do we find the "synergies"?
A: European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is a fund allocated by the European Union with the aim to strengthen economic and social cohesion in the European Union by correcting imbalances between its regions. You can find more about ERDF at http://ec.europa.eu/regional_policy/funds/feder/index_en.htm The proposers should clearly explain if they received in the past or if they will receive in the near future funds from the regional policy of the EU to improve their research capacity and how this will complement the REGPOT funding requested.
