Dainius Pavalkis - How do you see research and innovation making a difference for a better future?
Science and innovation is very important but everybody knows about this Death Valley between science and innovation. On the other hand, we should not forget that innovations are needed not only in the high-tech profile, like nanoelectronics and things like this, but as well in these traditional sectors of the economy, like we have major income from wood, food, oil refineries and so on, so it makes a lot of income into the budget and we cannot say that only a superspecialization or some super technologies will bring Europe out of the crisis. So I think science and research is needed in all sectors over the industry and the collaboration between research parts, between academia, between universities and business. Implementing what they found is very very important.
