2nd Joint Symposium of EU/FP7-Funded Projects for Malaria Vector Biology and Control

24th July 2011 at the Orthodox Academy of Crete, Kolymbari, Crete, Greece

The objective of this symposium is to provide the unique opportunity for a closer interaction amongst the EU-FP7 funded consortia for vector research-based malaria control initiatives. It should also provide the occasion for the common evaluation committee (EVEC), which was formed by the European Commission, to assess the research progress made by the four EU-FP7-Health Cooperation programme funded projects, which have completed the first two years of operation of the EU funded projects. The programme is a combination of presentation of the six research consortia funded by the EU–FP7 with their latest cutting-edge research results, and a discussion on relevant funding priorities after FP7.

An additional important aspect to note is that this year’s meeting will be followed by the 5th International Meeting on the “Molecular and population biology of mosquitoes and other disease vectors”, which will take place in the same place on July 25-30, 2011.
