Contribution to the discussion
In the meeting I outlined the view that the setting of companies was an inherently risky activity, however to be successful the investment must circulate. However, currently and for the foreseeable future there is no exit to public markets and with the already public companies are struggling to survive. Focus must also be in the support and survival of both the private and public SME's.
To that end the meeting should be open to looking and funding the complete lifespan of Biotech SME's until they are revenue generating or are exited. Also a more open and inventive way to support such companies must be investigated along with the traditional ways of funding and support.
