Q: Can researchers remain employed by the returning host during the outgoing phase (COFUND)?
A: In principle this is possible. It should be noted, however, that, in cases of secondment, it must be ensured that this period is spent on a training/career development activity and not on a task executed in the direct benefit of the return host. For example, the free choice of a research subject by the researcher during the secondment period would be crucial.
