Q: What is the difference between a Joint Undertaking and a JTI?
A: A Joint Undertaking is a legal entity established under the EC Treaty. The term can be used to describe any structure proposed for the "efficient execution of Community research, technological development and demonstration programmes". JTIs are one such example; more specifically, JTIs are instruments foreseen in the Seventh Framework Programme, and which fulfil the identification criteria described above.
