The current programme is Horizon 2020

Q: Who decided on the structure and content of FP7 and what was the process?
A: FP7 was approved under the co-decision procedure (see below). The Commission published a proposal on FP7 in a communication in April 2005. Following readings in the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers, the last step in the adoption procedure took place in the second half of December 2006 and the first calls for proposals were published immediately thereafter on 22 December.
