Launching FP7
Conference for Information Multipliers
Brussels, 7-8 February 2007
General information
The European Commission would like to welcome you to the
Launching FP7 Conference for Information Multipliers, the aim of
which is to provide participants with complete first-hand information
and a series of communication tools regarding the Seventh
Framework Programme. These communication tools have been
tailored for needs of “information multipliers” and translated into the
23 official languages of the European Union, in order to support their
presentations and FP7 launch events in their own countries, regions
and institutions.
Conference documentation
Participants receive a complete kit of information on the Seventh
Framework Programme in 23 languages. This includes a DVD with
the official FP7 PowerPoint presentation (60 slides), a 3-minute
animated presentation of FP7, official FP7 logos and posters, and an
FP7 leaflet. In addition, more concrete information about the different
Specific Programmes of FP7 is available at each Exhibition stand.
Plenary sessions
These will address all the main thematic priorities of the Seventh
Framework Programme as well as novelties and cross-cutting issues
such as the European Research Council, patenting and intellectual
property, etc.
Practical sessions
A session on how to participate in the Seventh Framework
Programme will provide practical guidance. Since the conference
is structured around parallel sessions, and in order to allow all
participants to attend, this practical session will be run three times
over the course of the conference.
Exhibition
An EC exhibition with general information stands on the Seventh
Framework Programme is located in the Charlemagne building,
next to the meeting rooms where the information sessions will be
addressed. A permanent presence of EC staff at these info-stands
will ensure a constant flow of information and answers to
participants' questions during the event.
The Exhibition Guide attached to the Conference Programme and
to the Participants Badge provides information on the stands. The
Communication Unit stand provides general information on FP7 and
practical aspects of the event.
The conference and internet
All Conference sessions were accessible via real-time web-streaming,
including both speakers and their PowerPoint presentations, and
interpretation - in five languages for the Einstein room, S3 (English,
French, German, Spanish, Italian) and in two languages (English and
French) for the other conference meeting rooms. The videos from all sessions are also available on this website after the conference. A ‘cyber-cafe’ was
freely accessible, with computers spread across the conference site.
