Evaluation procedure: All proposals submitted are evaluated and selected for funding by the Commission with the help of independent external experts, the so-called 'Peer Review'. The evaluation criteria and evaluation process are explained in guidance notes (ZIP file - 110 Kb) published by the Commission in November 2004. The Commission will then enter into financial and technical negotiations with the successful applicants. Once this stage has been successfully completed, a contract is drawn up between the Commission and the institutions involved.

In the case of the host-driven actions, such as the Marie Curie Research Training Networks, Host Fellowships, Conferences and Training Courses, individual researchers apply directly to the host institutions for vacancies.
