Building on the importance of the existing ERA-NET Learning Platform, the ERA-LEARN action is designed to create a toolbox for the entire ERA-NET community. The Learning Platform, which was launched by the European Commission in 2008, has the ultimate goals of reducing the costs of cross-border programmes and increasing the efficiency of call implementation.
NETWATCH is the European Commission's information platform on transnational R&D programme collaboration. The current focus is on ERA-NETs, but the scope will be increased to include a broader range of initiatives. NETWATCH supports transnational R&D programme collaboration in Europe by mapping networks, providing information on Joint Calls, analysing the impact of programme collaboration and describing the scope and results of individual networks.
The Learning Platform, which was launched by the European Commission in 2008, supports mutual learning between ERA-NETs and the participating research funders with the ultimate goals of reducing the costs of cross-border programmes and increasing the efficiency of joint activities and in particular call implementation. ERA-LEARN supports the Learning Platform in generating new tools and developing and documenting good practice. This ‘ERA-NET for ERA-NETs’ aims to streamline and drive the scheme forward, and to encourage the networks established to continue fostering collaborations well beyond the lifespan of their specific activity.
