| 2010 Info Days

On the agenda

On 30 July 2009, the Commission published a new series of 2010 calls for proposals. The Environment Directorate contributes to the ERA-Net call and the ‘Ocean for tomorrow’ call and ensures overall call coordination for the general Environment call and the Africa call, a cross-thematic call with the Themes ‘Health’ and ‘Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Biotechnology’. On 17 and 18 September 2009, the Environment Directorate held successful Information Days on the general Environment call and the Africa call at the Conference Centre ‘Albert Borschette’ in Brussels.

Information Gathering and Networking

The objective of the Infodays was to provide potential applicants with practical information concerning these calls and to facilitate networking between them. The Information Day on Africa was opened by Research Commissioner Janez Potočnik and Vera Brenda Ngosi, Director of the African Union Commission. In the afternoon of each day, parallel thematic brokerage sessions were organised during which participants had the opportunity to give short flash presentations. Each day, around 450 participants from more than 40 countries attended the event. An impressive amount of more than 250 flash presentations was given in the course of the different brokerage sessions. All presentations are available for download on the websites of the Environment call Infoday and the Africa call Infoday. The sessions were broadcast in real time via the Internet. You can watch the video recordings on CORDIS.
