Energy Transition – the Pathway Towards a Low–Carbon Europe

We know that the world needs a climate friendly energy system that can provide power for more people than we are now, and create less emission than today. This changes need to happen so fast that it historically will be equal to a revolution.
However, we must find out what the different alternatives for energy mixes will be, and how we will get there. This conference will represent the possibility to assess the current state of implementation and debate about the best possible future steps towards an integrated climate friendly energy system.
In particular, we expect to focus on two relevant aspects. The integrated energy system we might see in the future, and how consumers can be included in this system
SET-Plan conference 2018 - R&I driving the energy transition to 2050
19-21 November 2018, Vienna, Austria
This year's SET-Plan conference will take stock of progress on the SET-Plan implementation and aims to identify how research and innovation at European and national level with public and private funds contributes to the EU's energy transition.
The plenary discussions will address the challenges towards the objectives for 2030 and 2050, the financing instruments to support R&I, the EU's position in the world but will also refer to the importance of engaging cities and regions.
Parallel discussions will further zoom in on particular parts of the energy system, namely:
- Citizens in the energy transition
- Industry as a facilitator of clean energy
- Energy systems and networks
- Clean energy production- Renewables for 2050
Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Stakeholder Forum 2018

Since its first edition of 2008, the Stakeholder forum has brought together the European Fuel Cell and Hydrogen community. More than 10 years after, it continues to create a unique environment for making new connections or renewing old ones and serves as a forum to discuss the role of fuel cells and hydrogen in the energy and transport sectors and beyond.
This year's edition will gather representatives of EU institutions, industry and research and other energy, climate and transport stakeholders around the following topics: Session I - Building the road to consumers - will address the strategic development of the Hydrogen Infrastructure in Europe Session II – Working together: towards sectoral integration - will highlight the importance of sectoral Integration through collaboration with other players Session III – Delivering Jobs & Growth - will discuss the European Hydrogen Economy in a worldwide context, and fuel cells and hydrogen as areas of economic growth and job creation.
The Stakeholder Forum will be preceded by Programme Review Days (PRD) on 14- 15 November 2018, and the Awards for the best hydrogen and fuel cells success story, in the evening of 15 November. The conference will provide for various opportunities for information exchange and general networking among participants.
Solar PV energy conference: the impact of EU R&D funding

A conference on solar PV renewable energy research, development and technologies will be taking place in Brussels on 14 November 2018. This event will aim to provide insights into the impacts of R&D funded through the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation. It will present the Solar PV Renewable Energy R&D Impact Report and offer an opportunity to influence the recommendations to increase future R&D impacts. During the conference key industry experts will share their insights on the future of solar PV technologies and there will be opportunities to discuss and understand how to increase the impacts of research projects.
