Abstract: The NEREIDA MOWC project is intended to demonstrate the successful incorporation of OWC technology with Wells turbine power take-off into a newly constructed rubble mound breakwater in Mutriku, in the north coast of Spain, being be the first breakwater wave energy project in Europe and showing its viability for future commercial projects. Eight OWC cells will be constructed to give an active collector length of close to 100 metres.

Abstract: In the proposed CONCERTO project in Valby 200 kWp PV is integrated to match electricity use for ventilation in 600 housing units, and solar thermal collectors are combined with water savings to obtain 40-50% solar for DHW for 333 retrofit housing units and 50% for 70 passive house rooftop apartments, while 200 new built apartments will get 31% solar DHW. Besides is used an innovative and cost effective biomass gasification CHP plant using wood pellets.In Salzburg they are also like Copenhagen already a kind of solar city.

Abstract: Economic and sustainable production of fuels, chemicals and materials from biomass requires capturing the maximum energy and monetary value from sustainable feedstock. SUPRA-BIO achieves this by focussing on innovative research and development of critical unit operations, by using process intensification to match economic production to the scale of available feedstock and by process integration that provides energy from process waste, optimises utilities to minimise environmental impact and maximises value from the product mix.
