Abstract: The overall aim of the ADINE-project is to develop, demonstrate and validate a new Active Network Management (ANM) method of distribution network including distributed generation (DG) and enabling solutions to support it. The enabling solutions operate as active components in managing the network allowing easier interconnection of DG units. The solutions cover protection, voltage and reactive power control and planning and information systems of networks.

Abstract: Smart-Eco creates a community for eco-buildings by bringing together experienced organizations that span the full range of stakeholder views. These include universities, R&D organizations, companies that supply and use innovative technologies, consultants, users and governmental driver bodies. Smart-Eco uses this community to focus on the global issues of sustainable building so that added value can be created for the evaluation of current and future RTD activities.

Abstract: The main demonstration site of this new CONCERTO project is located in the city of Alessandria. The building construction component of the CONCERTO AL Piano community is considered an urban pilot project at the local or ‘neighbourhood level’. Other activities carried out within this project include the eco-refurbishment of 299 existing social housing dwellings, a brand new eco-village with 104 dwellings, as well as a social-elderly house and a health-sport center.

Abstract: Energy storage is recognised as a key element for energy networks in the near future. SUPRA-BIO achieves this by focussing on innovative research and development of critical unit operations, by using process intensification to match economic production to the scale of available feedstock and by process integration that provides energy from process waste, optimises utilities to minimise environmental impact and maximises value from the product mix.
