The Descartes Prizes are among the activities supported under the European Commission's Seventh
Framework Programme, within the Research Directorate Science and Society.

• 07.03.2007: Descartes Prizes for Research & Science Communication - Winners announced
• 21.04.2006: REMINDER: THE CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMITTING DESCARTES PROPOSALS IS THURSDAY 4 MAY 2006, 17:00 (BRUSSELS LOCAL TIME).
• 21.04.2006: Learn more about the evaluation process of the Descartes Prizes: the Guidance note for evaluators is now available at the Cordis call page .
• 17.12.2005: The new call for proposals for the 2006 edition of the Descartes prizes has been published. The closing date is 4 May 2006. Please note that this year, submission to the research prize can only be made ON-LINE (using the EPSS tool) and that submission to the science communication prize can only be made ON PAPER.
• The laureates and finalists of the Descartes Prizes will receive their prizes at the DESCARTES AWARD CEREMONY that will take place on 1-2 December 2005 at the Royal Society in London. Programme( 200 KB).
• 08.011.2005 European Commission announces nominees for 2005 Descartes Prize for Science Communication ( 700 KB) and for Research ( 700 KB)
