Volker Rieke

Volker Rieke is deputy head and acting director general of the directorate-general "European and International Cooperation in Education and Research" of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in Germany. He has many years of policy shaping experience in International and European science cooperation. He was head of the directorate-general "Life Sciences – Research for Health" (BMBF) and the division "Science, Research and Technology", in the German embassy to the United States of America, Washington D.C. (Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs - 2005-7). Volker Rieke has a second state examination in law (1991).
