Michael Tubbs

Dr Michael Tubbs is managing director of Innovomantex and visiting professor of innovation and strategic management at the Ashcroft International Business School, Cambridge. He is an advisor to the European Commission on the EU Industrial R&D Scoreboard and was author of the UK government’s global R&D Scoreboard from 2000 to 2006. He was the originator of the UK government’s European Value Added Scoreboard and its author from 2002 to 2007. He was also a member of the UK government working group which developed the UK R&D tax credit. Dr Tubbs other responsibilities include investment analysis for a City of London company and editor of a weekly investment publication.

Prior to Innovomantex he held senior positions in US and European multinational engineering companies for 25 years. These positions included R&D director and head of a manufacturing & business improvement programme covering 55 facilities in 11 countries.

Dr Tubbs has published over 100 articles in scientific, technical and business journals including several recent ones for the US journal Research-Technology Management. He is a Chartered Physicist, a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and Member of the Institute of Directors. His PhD is from the University of Bristol
