Janet Metcalfe

Janet Metcalfe is an independent educational consultant specialising in the personal, professional and career development of researchers. As head of Vitae she is responsible for ensuring that the UK is world-class in developing researchers and research careers.
She was a member of the UK Working Group that mapped existing UK legislation and practice against the European Charter and Code and developed the UK Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers. She now sits on the Concordat Strategy Group, which provides strategic advice, guidance and reviewing progress on the implementation of the Concordat.
