David Drewry is Vice-President, European University Association and is Chair of its Research Policy WG. He was Vice-Chancellor of The University of Hull, UK between 1999-2009. His previous positions include: Director-General of The British Council; Director of Science and Technology, UK Natural Environment Research Council; Director, British Antarctic Survey and Director, Scott Polar Research Institute, Cambridge University. He is a polar and environmental scientist and has led scientific expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic. He was a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He is a Trustee of the Natural History Museum, London.
