Over €11 million for joint EU-India research
The European Commission has just launched two calls for proposals for joint projects between EU and Indian partners aimed at building science and technology cooperation between Europe and India. One will contribute to increasing the development of green energy sources, energy efficiency and clean technologies in India; the other will create and strengthen EU-India research and innovation partnerships.
The €9 million call for proposals "Indo-European Cooperation on clean technologies and energy efficiency for eco-cities" involves five pilot cities located in various states across India. The focus is on mainstreaming low-carbon strategies into urban development by promoting the adoption of renewable energy and energy efficiencies – for example through twinning partnerships.
The "EU-India Research and Innovation Partnership" call for proposals aims to strengthen EU-India research and innovation partnerships and promote the mobility of European researchers and innovators from research-based clusters in Europe to clusters in India. The €2 million call covers the fields of: environment, biotechnology, transport, energy, health and information and communication technologies.
