Stakeholder meeting: future forests
The Trees4Future project will hold a stakeholder meeting in France with the title ‘Trees for the future: contributing to the green bio-economy’ on 24 September. The meeting provides an opportunity for discussions on European research needs for a green bioeconomy, and especially the role of genetics and genomics. These are issues of strategic importance for the forest-based sector, and the outcomes of the meeting will help to steer the activities of the Trees4Future project to better meet the needs of different stakeholders. The meeting is open to all. There is no registration fee, but participants must register.
Trees4Future is a research project co-funmded by the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) that aims to integrate, develop and improve major forest genetics and forestry research infrastructures. It will provide the wider European forestry research community with easy and comprehensive access to currently scattered sources of information (including genetic databanks, forest modelling tools and wood technology labs) and expertise.
The meeting will take place on 24 September 2013 at AgroParisTech, Nancy, France.
For the programme, and to register for the meeting, see the event website.
