Euronews video presents EU Bioeconomy nutrition research

With the title ‘Food for thought’, a new video clip produced by the Euronews television channel reports on EU-funded research into the links between nutrition and mental development among children and teenagers.

Using interviews with researchers from the NUTRIMENTHE project in Spain, the video describes how, in Granada, researchers gave food additives with different types of valuable nutrients to pregnant women taking part in the study to find out whether their children will, on average, do better psychologically than their peers.

The Granada experiments are just one example from a series of complementary studies in nine countries covering more than 15 000 children. The video also reports on research carried out by the FRISBEE project on new refrigeration technologies in the food chain – key results for ensuring nutritious foodstuffs for the future.
