From safe food to healthy eating: EU-funded FAHRE project proposes a strategy to address the challenge

Following a public consultation in October 2011 on how to improve food and health research in Europe, FAHRE published its final recommendations in the form of a position paper.

The document underlines the importance of building an effective strategy to address the challenges of food security and chronic diseases while providing an overview of the different European initiatives related to food and health research.

FAHRE (Food and Health Research in Europe), which ran for 28 months, was an EU-funded project to identify needs and gaps in food and health research, and to make strategy proposals.
