Final event for EcoTroFood eco-innovation project
Since 2011 the EcoTroFood project has been improving the food industry’s access to information about ‘eco-innovation’ and the benefits it can offer to companies and SMEs. Its work has involved developing technical solutions, products and services, holding national business plan ‘Ecotrophelia’ competitions for ‘eco-innovative’ products, supporting SMEs in eco-product development and marketing, and holding matchmaking events with investors; among many other activities.
Part of the Innovation Acceleration initiative of Europe Innova, the project developed the online Ecotrophelia platform to disseminate its activities and competitions among companies and food science researchers and students, and to facilitate eco-technology transfer.
On 17-18 December 2013, EcoTroFood will hold its final event, where key results will be presented and the new Ecotrophelia Circle network launched. At the event, speakers from the EU Bioeconomy ERA-NET SUSFOOD will present its strategic research agenda and outline future calls on cooperation between research groups in sustainable food research.
The ECOTROFOOD final event will take place on 17-18 December at the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts (KVAB) in Brussels.
