Second ACROPOLIS Stakeholder Conference

The EU co-funded project ACROPOLIS (Aggregate and cumulative risk of pesticides: An on-line integrated strategy) is organising its second stakeholder conference, to take place in Brussels on 15 October 2013.

The goal of ACROPOLIS is to improve the cumulative and aggregated risk assessment of pesticides in line with the legal requirements set out by Article 14 of the EU’s Directive 396/2005 on pesticide limits. The project will also make models and data available in a web-based platform.

At the first ACROPOLIS stakeholder conference, the European Commission noticed that many stakeholders and member states have high expectations for the applicability of the ACROPOLIS models. A user group has since been trained to increase understanding of probabilistic models, and to test the ACROPOLIS models for practical use from a stakeholder perspective. The aim of this second stakeholder conference is to collect feedback on this experience and also to discuss a practical way forward for European risk assessment.
