Why not visit us in Chicago – at the 2013 BIO Convention?
The global biotechnology industry will gather for its premier event – the BIO International Convention – on 22-25 April 2013 in Chicago, where the leading companies in biotech will be present.
The Convention offers keynote speeches and sessions involving CEOs policymakers and scientists; the European Commission will also be participating, highlighting its role in supporting research, innovation and entrepreneurship and promoting Europe as an Innovation Union. It also features the BIO Business Forum (one-on-one partnering) and hundreds of sessions covering biotech trends, policy issues and technological innovations. Among the topics covered by the 125 breakout sessions are: biofuels and biochemicals, food and agriculture, and biotech patenting and technology transfer.
The Convention also hosts the world's largest biotechnology exhibition – the BIO Exhibition – with some 2 000 stands, among which a booth representing the European Commission. Senior Commission officials will give an overview of policy issues and ongoing initiatives, both at the Commission's booth and in different Convention sessions.
First held in 1993, the BIO International Convention has grown in international importance – attracting 16 505 industry leaders from 49 states and 65 countries in 2012. Today it represents a major opportunity for scientists and industrialists to interact by sharing ideas, partnering and setting common goals.
