CAP reform: a new partnership between Europe and farmers

On Wednesday 12th Oct, Commissioner Cioloş presented a set of legal proposals designed to make the Common Agricultural Policy a more effective policy for a more competitive and sustainable agriculture and vibrant rural areas. One of the key messages of the proposed reform concerns The agriculture of the future has to be knowledge-based. In order to make more use of research and innovation in faming practices, we propose doubling the budget for agricultural research and innovation from 2014, up to over EUR 4.5 billion.
