"Challenges of Global Change for Agricultural Development and World Food Security", GEWISOLA 2012

26 - 28 September 2012
Stuttgart/Germany at the Universität Hohenheim

Global change comes with numerous challenges for the agricultural and food sectors. This includes versatile social demands from multifunctional agriculture, changing price ratios between biomass and fossil energy sources, the persisting and increasing global dimension of undernourishment, as well as the expected consequences of climate change. To deal with these challenges, not only are private sector initiatives needed, but there is also the need for a new orientation of agricultural and food policy and institutions, as well as strong engagement of civil society.
