The Great Debate on the battle to feed a changing planet - EuroScience Open Forum, July 13, 2012

As part of Dublin City of Science the FACCE - JPI is organising "The Great Debate on the battle to feed a changing planet", a public debate on Food Security and Climate Change.

The Debate will take place on 13 July 2012, from 13:30 until 15:00, as part of the “Policy Day” of the EuroScience Open Forum 2012 in the central auditorium (2000 seats) of the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD).

In this debate we aim to:
Raise public and media awareness on one of the most challenging scientific topics of the 21st century: i.e. to simultaneously achieve Food Security and combat Climate Change;
Bring together some of the most senior scientists, science communicators and advocates in the world as key-note speakers and debaters;
Maximise the use of modern media (Skype feed-ins, webcasting, audience participation through texting and Twitter) with a view to facilitating global and interactive audience participation (both from inside and outside the auditorium) into the debate.
