February - FP7 Information Days for Energy and Transport
Brussels, Belgium ('Charlemagne' building), 13-14 February 2007 The First Calls for Proposals under the Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7) are set to be published on 22 December 2006. In order to support the preparation of proposals, the Directorates General for Research and for Energy and Transport of the European Commission are holding Joint Information Days on 13 and 14 February 2007.
September - First CEAS – European Air and Space Conference “Century Perspectives”
Berlin, 10-13 September 2007 As the CEAS mission is to strengthen the European industrial alliances and relationships, the biannual European Air and Space Conference has been established to provide a forum for presentation and discussion of all scientific and technical areas related to aeronautics and astronautics.

October - EU Workshop: Aeronautics RTD in the Research Framework Programme of the EU
Frankfurt, Germany, 17 October 2006 This three hour event will be directed by Liam Breslin, Head of the Unit Aeronautics Research, and Remy Denos from the European Commission. The main focus will be set on: - Strategic Research Agenda of the European Aviation – ACARE - The 7th European Research Framework Program - European Research - SME Initiatives Subsequent to the Workshop the opportunity is given to hold casual conversations with the lecturers.
- Aeronautical VIVACE Forum 2
The Hague (Den Haag), The Netherlands, 24 – 26 October 2006
The VIVACE integrated R&T project, co-ordinated by Airbus, was launched in January 2004. It is planned to run for 4 years with an overall budget of around 74 million EUR, co-funded by the European Commission. 63 companies and institutions are co-operating in the project, including 8 small and medium enterprises.
VIVACE will develop advanced capabilities (Knowledge Enabled Engineering, Multidisciplinary Design and Optimisation, Design to Decision Objectives, Engineering Data Management, Distributed Information Systems Infrastructure for Large Enterprise and Collaboration Hub for Heterogeneous Enterprises) applied to real engineering and business scenarios from the aircraft and engine sectors. The main result will be an Aeronautical Collaborative Design Environment and associated Processes, Models and Methods.
September - First CEAS European Air and Space Conference
Berlin, Germany, 10 - 13 September 2006 The 1st International CEAS European Air and Space Conference addresses all disciplines of aeronautics and astronautics systems, including their design, development and operation. It covers all scientific, industrial, educational, legal as well as historical aspects relevant to Aerospace. A major goal is to generate synergies between aviation and space related technologies and experiences, as well as products.

Aeronautics Days 2006 - Sustainable Solutions for New HorizonsVienna, Austria, Messe Wien, 19 - 21 June 2006The fifth Community aeronautical days are a key event for European research and technology in aeronautics and air transport during the period of Austrian Presidency of the European Union. The Aeronautics Days 2006 will present the development and application of advanced aeronautics technologies in Europe. The Aeronautics Days 2006 will be held under Austrian Presidency at Messe in Vienna.
September- 08 September 2005 – Brussels – New Member States Workshop: ‘Developing new Member States’ capabilities in aeronautics research’
The Workshop addressed: improving new Member : improving new Member States’ capabilities in aeronautics research on national and European levels; promoting new Member States’ contributions to the ACARE process; and promoting their involvement in aeronautics and air transport activities under the EU Research Framework Programme. Participants included: officials and delegates of Member States’ ministries and agencies responsible for aeronautics, air transport, research and education; senior representatives responsible for RTD from industry and research institutes in new Member States; and invited experts. March- 30-31 March – Brussels – ACARE Aerodays
This event is being organised by ‘Advisory Council for Aeronautics Research in Europe’ (ACARE) to launch the second edition of the Strategic Research Agenda and to provide an opportunity to exchange pan-European views on its implementation.
July- 24-28/07/04 – Finland – European Congress on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering (ECCOMAS)
Now in its third year, ECCOMAS is pleased to announce its next edition to take place in Jyväskylä, Finland. Aeronautics and space technology is listed in its scientific programme under ‘industrial applications’, however many topics in this conference are relevant to aeronautics researchers. The deadline for abstracts is 15 November 2003.
