RegioStars 2010: Micro-finance

This video presents the RegioStars 2010 winning project in the “Integration of migrants or marginalised groups in urban areas” category. Founded in 2008, this project focuses on improving access to finance for migrant women, who often find it difficult to accrue capital in order to set up or develop their own company. The project’s main goal is to establish a permanent micro-finance institute in order to help them escape these confines. So far the project has supported 80 fledgling women entrepreneurs and helped to launch 15 micro-businesses, creating 20 new jobs along the way.
