VOMARE project, gulf of Finland
04/01/2010This film is one in a series of four reports (on Lithuania, Sweden, Denmark and Finland) produced as part of the launch of the European Baltic Sea Strategy. The films showcase projects co-funded by the European Commission under the ERDF. The VOMARE (Voluntary Maritime Rescue) project, co-funded by the EU’s INTERREG IV programme, is aimed at developing cooperation between Finnish and Estonian rescue systems. Bolstered by a century’s worth of experience in volunteer maritime rescue, Finland is now sharing its know-how with Estonia and the coastguard service there.
