The European Commission and its Swedish partners are organising the Ministerial Conference "Towards a Knowledge Society - the Nordic Experience" on 14/15 November 2005 in Gothenburg.
The Conference will assist the EU in becoming "the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world", by making the best use of available public funding and especially EU Structural and other funding. The development of the Knowledge Society in all EU Member States is a top priority in creating higher growth, more and better jobs and greater social inclusion. The EU Structural Funds together with the EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (RTD) provide important tools to address this challenge.
