OPEN DAYS 2005 – European Week of Regions and Cities:
“Working together for Regional Growth and Jobs”
By this call for papers, the European Commission’s Regional Policy Directorate-General is looking for 60-80 speakers from all EU Member States and candidate countries to give presentations during the “OPEN DAYS 2005 – European Week of Regions and Cities”. The presentations should be given during the 11, 12 and 13 October 2005 in Brussels.
Contributions should come from practitioners in the field of regional development and the management of Structural Funds and instruments. They should present best practices and the preparation of the next generation of Structural Fund programmes (2007-2013) in their region or Member State. Due to limited resources, the presentations should be held in English only.
The proposals for contributions should reflect on one of the following headings:
- Programmes for "Convergence" regions
- Programmes for "Regional competitiveness and employment"
- Programmes in the field of "European Territorial Cooperation"
- Managing the Structural Funds in the 2007-2013 period.
Speakers should send their contributions to the Regional Policy DG by filling in the electronic application form. The final selection of papers will be based on: the quality of the papers and a broad geographical division. Priority will be give to applications from “Convergence” regions. Invited speakers will be reimbursed as regards their travel and accommodation costs. No fees will be paid.
The deadline for submitting the applications is 3 May 2005, 18h00.
Selected speakers will be informed before 17 May 2005.
