In an effort to bring the OPEN DAYS event closer to local and regional stakeholders, each participating region and city is requested to organise at least one event locally to be held between September and November 2013 under the heading 'Europe in my region/city'.
Local events are organised around the OPEN DAYS 2013 thematic priorities. They may target the general public, potential beneficiaries of EU regional policy, expert audiences, academics and the media and can take various formats such as conferences, workshops, radio/TV broadcasts or exhibitions. Local events can also be organised in conjunction with the launch of EU regional policy projects or in the framework of annual information measures as required by the Structural Funds' regulations.
OPEN DAYS local events might also be organised by regional and local administrations, institutions or organisations which are not members of an OPEN DAYS regional partnership.
An interactive map will be published during the third quarter of 2013.
The 'European Cooperation Day' 2013 celebrates the achievements of territorial cooperation in the European Union and neighbouring countries.
This initiative will take place on 21 September as local events will be organised by European programmes dealing with territorial cooperation or cooperation at the external borders of the European Union. Watch the trailer.
