Regions and cities are the core of the OPEN DAYS event. Through their Brussels representation offices they are asked to create so-called 'regional partnerships' and to present seminars and local events in the framework of the OPEN DAYS. In 2009, the OPEN DAYS presents 24 Regional Partnerships consisting of 213 regions or cities from all over Europe.
Apart from the two organisers, the European Commission's Regional Policy DG and the Committee of the Regions, the European Parliament, the Presidency of the Council of the EU, the European Investment Bank and other Commission DGs as well as the Commission representations in the Member States and information networks.
Business partners and associations, financial institutions and civil society organisations will organise sessions as part of the OPEN DAYS programme, mainly with the 'Meeting Place' in the Committee of the Regions where they will jointly present projects and ideas in cooperation with regions and cities.
