EU leaders meet to discuss Europe's Growth – putting Cohesion Policy centre stage
On 28th and 29th June, EU leaders will come together at the European Council in Brussels to agree on a comprehensive package of measures to boost growth and jobs in the European Union. The EU's budget for the next 7 years (Multiannual Financial Framework) and European economic governance will also be on the table for discussion. Cohesion Policy will be under the spotlight too, as negotiations on the legislative package for 2014-2020 progress, and an ambitious, result-oriented cohesion policy - concentrated around the areas of the Europe 2020 Strategy, is recognised as crucial for Europe's growth.
