Regional Studies Association: Call for Papers for Winter Conference 2012

The Regional Studies Association is currently looking for submissions of academic abstracts for its one-day winter conference in London (UK) on Friday, 23rd November.  The conference will act as a forum for discussion and debate on recent developments and trends in the field and the key areas for further research. It will look at the subject of the deepening territorial inequalities in the backdrop of the current economic crisis and the scope for public intervention;  as well as touching on questions such as: How will classic forms of urban and regional development policy be affected? • The Uneven Spatial Impacts of Economic Crisis and Austerity
  • Responding to Austerity: Renewing Models of Territorial Development
  • Managing Decline and Peripherality: Shrinking Cities, Transition Towns and Other Approaches
