With ERDF funding, this project will finance the construction of a new waste station in Roves, Finland by the waste-management company Etappi. Its goal is to establish a self-sufficient business community in the area.

The project aims to bring all the businesses in the region together by encouraging them to produce, store and use the renewable energy being produced within the district. Potential options for renewable energy sources include wood chips, solar energy and geothermal energy.

Etappi’s energy-efficient waste station will boost the local circular economy by enabling residents to recycle more waste, too. The project will map out renewable energy sources, energy distribution and storage opportunities as well as identify potential new energy producers/consumers.

This sustainable infrastructure will benefit the entire district of Roves and encourage a symbiotic relationship between actors in the business community, enabling them to benefit from one another.
