The caribsky project extends in "The pretty month of Europe" in Guadeloupe

The Interreg project ‘CARIBSKY-PAIRE’ aims to develop inter-island regional air traffic. To do this, Air Antilles Express and its partners Liat and Winair are committed to building a common ticket management platform.

‘The Caribbean islands are distant on average from 200 to 300 km but there are few cross connections. We will connect our networks, but also make reconciliations regarding operations, reservations and finance. The passengers will be able to go from one end to the other of the Caribbean with a single ticket’, explained Serge Tsygalnitzky, general manager of Air Antilles Express.

Exhibition of the European project CARIBSKY to the general public

‘Europe is a true partner that accompanies the area to create a cultural link. By learning, we discovered the Interreg Caribbean device with which we collaborated for an optimal result’, testifies Mathias Flodieps, spokesman of the project.

After the official launch of ‘CARIBSKY-PAIRE’ in April, travelers and users of regional airports in Guadeloupe and Martinique were able to discover an exhibition dedicated to the project from 1 to 31 May 2018 for the ‘Joli Mois de l'Europe’. ‘This is an important project for Europe that will benefit from human and operational resources. It will bring more tourists to our destinations’, says Serge Tsygalnitzky.

Interest for the community of the Caribbean

In total, this alliance will serve at least thirty Caribbean destinations. ‘The purpose is noble and will allow us to discover the culture of our neighbours, bring families together’, says Mathias Flodieps.

The creation of the common management platform is planned over a period of three years. It will be supported by €1.8 million from the European Regional Development Fund. ‘The job will be to connect the servers of the airlines’, said the spokesman of Air Antilles Express.

The project ‘Caribsky-PAIRE’, totaling €4.6 million, is co-financed by the Interreg Caribbean programme, of which €1.8 million come from the European Regional Development Fund and €417 500 from the European Development Fund. The remaining amount is funded by the airlines Winair, Liat, Air Antilles and Discover Dominica Authority, which is the tourist office of Dominica.
