As part of Scotland’s Energy Strategy, which includes a target to source 50 % of all Scottish energy from renewables by 2030, the ERDF is helping to promote funding and investment in large-scale low-carbon infrastructure projects.

This funding will provide two types of potential support to business. First, companies will have the opportunity to apply for up to EUR 100 000 to help with the development of investment-ready business cases in the low-carbon sector. Alternatively, they can apply for financial support for up to 50 % of the value of their low-carbon project – up to a maximum of EUR 10 million per application.

This type of funding has proved successful for the Scottish government in the past, with the previous programme funding over EUR 40 million worth of investments for 16 clean energy projects.
