The ‘Učka 360’ project is aiming to develop a new visitor centre in the Isprian peninsula’s national park along with four other facilities, including three information areas run by volunteers and an interpretation centre. The modern visitor centre is an ambitious plan which has been in the nature park’s planning pipeline for 10 years already. It will be built from the remnants of an old poultry unit, the idea being to keep the new construction in line with the park’s history.

Together, the four new centres are hoping to foster better development of innovative programmes within the natural park. These will include promoting the sustainable use of natural heritage resources and improving and enhancing existing educational projects. Ultimately, the Učka project and its partners hope that these changes and upgrades will result in a better all-round experience for visitors, thereby attracting more people to the nature park.
