An ERDF-funded project aims to bring local stakeholders together to stimulate entrepreneurship among young adults in Europe’s Danube region.

Key challenges stand in the way of the transition from education to employment for many of the area’s youth. In particular, these include a lack of entrepreneurial culture and poor innovation management.

In response, a project funded by Danube Transnational Programme 2014-2020 is attempting to bring relevant players together to develop successful and innovative strategies promoting entrepreneurship and employment opportunities for young adults.

Local advisory groups will develop action plans and strategies outlining specific recommendations for the implementation of entrepreneurial and innovative ideas. An ‘Innovation Laboratory’ will also be created, giving young people the opportunity to learn key skills and competences to help them in their future careers.

Interreg project partners include cities, regions, associations, universities and NGOs in Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Serbia.

This endeavour also seeks to help unlock the potential for business and social innovation in the Danube region.
